Rose Garden

Newly expanded to 12,000 square feet, with the new addition of the lower section, the Rose Garden delivers luscious blooms and fragrances from more than 1,200 roses, in excess of 55-varieties and 16-different classifications of roses. The entire series of "Knock-Out" shrub roses can be found in the garden, in addition to a wide variety of grandifloras, floribundas, hybrid teas, mini’s and shrub roses. Be sure to look for the Chicago Peace Rose, which is a sport mutation of the famous Peace Rose that was discovered in the gardens at Cantigny in 1967. This glowing pink rose offers a butter yellow heart and has a very strong perfume rose scent. A fabulous view of this rose is offered at a shady bench under the 130-foot long pergola, which flanks the rose garden on the west.
